FAQ's about the Tapestry Comfort Girth

How tight should my Tapestry Comfort Girth be?

When using any of our girths, it is paramount that the girth is not over-tightened.

The elastic in our girths is designed to allow the horse to breathe and relax, so please ensure you use a gentle tension. Conversely, the girth must be tight enough to safely prevent the saddle from slipping.
We have a helpful video on our YouTube page that clearly illustrates the correct tension.

How long does a Tapestry Comfort Girth last?

This is a very common question, and we typically advise replacing your girth after three years of everyday use.

While our Tapestry Girth is made with excellent quality elastic, it is not designed to last indefinitely, as it is constantly exposed to sweat, water, and dirt. Replacing it after 3 years  will ensure continued safety and performance.

What size of girth should I order?

It is imperative that you measure your current girth from end of buckle to end of buckle regardless of what the stamp reads in order to know what size to order.

Finding Your Size Girths stretch over time, which means the size printed on your girth may not reflect its actual length. Here's how to find your correct size:

  1. Measure your current girth from buckle end to buckle end.
  2. Order that size.
  3. If you're between sizes, go up

The Tapestry Comfort Girth is designed to provide increased comfort for your equine partner with elastic placed where their lungs expand. Please make sure you are ordering the correct size for maximum effectiveness.

Caring for your Tapestry Comfort Girth

A well-made girth, properly cared for, is a long-term investment in your horse's comfort and performance. Here's how to keep yours in its best condition.

Leather: Clean with saddle soap and condition with leather oil as needed — after heavy use or exposure to sweat and weather.

Elastic: Brush clean with a dandy brush (wet or dry) using a mild, non-chemical soap or shampoo. Always air dry — never use direct heat.

When to replace: We recommend replacing your Tapestry Comfort Girth after three years of regular daily use. The elastic is a functional, load-bearing component, and replacing it on schedule ensures your horse continues to get the full benefit of the design.
